How long has Wedding Day Photos been in business?

Wedding Day Photos was founded in the 1970s by Geoffrey Stemp. In 2008, his son, Edwin Stemp, took over the business, bringing his extensive experience in commercial, fashion, and advertising photography. Under Edwin's leadership, we've continued to grow and capture countless beautiful weddings.

What areas do you cover?

We primarily serve Greater Manchester, Lancashire, and Cheshire. However, we're more than happy to travel to locations such as Chester, Liverpool, Sheffield, and even destinations abroad like France and Italy. If your wedding is outside our usual area, we'll discuss travel and accommodation arrangements to ensure we're there to capture your day.

Who will be taking the photos at our wedding?

Edwin Stemp will be your main photographer, bringing his wealth of experience and artistic vision to your wedding day. For larger weddings, we often recommend having a second photographer to ensure comprehensive coverage. Our assistants are all trained professionals with over two years of experience, ensuring every moment is captured beautifully.

How would you describe your photography style?

We blend timeless artistic portraits with candid, documentary-style shots to tell the complete story of your wedding day. Our goal is to capture genuine emotions and moments, providing you with a collection of images that reflect the joy and love of your celebration.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

Absolutely! Engagement sessions are a wonderful way for us to get to know each other and for you to become comfortable in front of the camera. These sessions result in beautiful images that you can use for save-the-dates, wedding websites, or simply to commemorate this special time in your lives.

What packages do you offer, and what do they include?

We offer a range of packages tailored to meet different needs and budgets. All our packages include high-resolution, professionally edited digital images. Additional options such as engagement sessions, second photographers, and bespoke wedding albums are also available. We’re happy to discuss your specific requirements to create a package that suits you perfectly.

How many photos will we receive, and when can we expect them?

The number of images varies depending on the length and specifics of your wedding day, but typically, couples receive between 600-800 photos. Our standard turnaround time is approximately 2-4 weeks, up to 12 weeks depending on the season. We know you're eager to see your photos, so we strive to deliver them as promptly as possible without compromising on quality.

Do you offer wedding albums and prints?

Yes, we believe your wedding memories deserve to be showcased beautifully. We offer a range of bespoke albums and high-quality wall-art, allowing you to relive your special day for years to come. During our consultation, we can show you samples and discuss the various options available.

Are you insured?

Yes, we have comprehensive public liability up to £10million and separate insurance to fly our drone. If your venue requires a certificate of insurance, we can provide that upon request.

What happens if you're unable to attend on the day due to unforeseen circumstances?

While this is highly unlikely, we have a network of trusted professional photographers who can step in if necessary. Your wedding is incredibly important to us, and we ensure there's a contingency plan in place to provide seamless coverage.

How do we book you for our wedding?

To secure your date, we require a completed contract and a non-refundable booking fee of £395. This ensures that your date is reserved exclusively for you. We recommend reaching out as early as possible, as popular dates can book up quickly.

Can we meet before the wedding?

Certainly! We love getting to know our couples before the big day. We can arrange an in-person meeting or a virtual consultation to discuss your plans, answer any questions, and ensure we're aligned with your vision.

Do you offer videography services?

Yes! We offer professional wedding videography to beautifully complement your photography.

What if we need to reschedule our wedding?

We understand that plans can change. If you need to reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. We'll do our best to accommodate your new date, subject to availability. Our goal is to work with you to find a satisfactory solution.

Do you offer drone photography services?

Yes, we offer drone photography to capture stunning aerial views of your wedding. Ed and our videographers are fully licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and adheres to all safety and legal regulations. 

Is my venue suitable for drone photography?

Drone suitability depends on several factors, including venue size, location, and any restrictions they may have. Venues with ample outdoor space are ideal for drone photography. We recommend discussing this with your venue coordinator, and we're happy to assist in assessing suitability. 

Do we need to obtain permission for drone use at our wedding?

Yes, it's essential to obtain permission from your wedding venue for drone operations. Some venues have specific policies or restrictions regarding drone use due to safety or privacy concerns. We'll work closely with you and your venue to ensure all necessary permissions are secured. 

Are there any legal restrictions or considerations for drone photography?

In the UK, drone operators must be CAA-approved for commercial use, which includes wedding photography. Additionally, drones cannot be flown near airports, over crowds, or in certain restricted areas. We'll handle all legal considerations to ensure compliant and safe drone operations during your wedding. 

How does weather affect drone photography?

Adverse weather conditions such as rain, strong winds, or fog can impact the ability to operate drones safely. We'll monitor the weather leading up to your wedding day and discuss contingency plans if necessary to ensure we capture your day beautifully.
